Lisa Moehling's PledgePage
On February 25, 2003 four wonderful individuals died in Kuwait including my sweet Timothy. The 083 flight crew gave the ultimate sacrifice in Operation Enduring Freedom. My husband, CW2 Timothy Wayne Moehling, CW2 J.D. Smith, SGT "Gonzo" Gonzalez, and SGT Will Tracy all lost their lives while serving our country. Their Blackhawk helicopter crashed in a sandstorm during a night training mission in the Kuwaiti desert. All four men were part of 5-158 AVN REGT based in Germany.
During the months that followed Timothy's death, I was directed to the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors. TAPS has been a great support to our family. They hold an annual Good Grief Camp for children, which we attended last May. It was a wonderful way for Alex, Sarah and Noah to connect with other children who lost loved-ones in similar circumstances. It was a positive experience for me as well to meet other adults who had lost a spouse or child in the military. On October 31st, I will be running the 8K portion of the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C. I will run in memory of Timothy and the rest of the crew of Flight 083.I will also be running to raise money for T*A*P*S, so they can continue to help those of us who lose loved ones serving in the military. Help support T*A*P*S the way they have supported us. Thank you for your support. Lisa Moehling |
